Description:
This antibody recognises a single protein of 33-34 kDa, identified as the Prostate specific antigen. This PSA antibody is highly specific and stains prostatic secretory and ductal epithelium in both normal and neoplastic tissues. Prostate specific antigen is a chymotrypsin-like serine protease (kallikrein family) exclusively produced by the prostate epithelium, and abundant in seminal fluid. PSA can be detected in the sera of patients with prostatic carcinoma. It is predominantly complexed to a liver-derived serine protease inhibitor, alpha-1-antichymotrypsin (ACT). A higher proportion of serum PSA is complexed to ACT in prostate cancer than in benign hyperplasia.

They participate in a variety of biological processes, including respiration, calcification, acid-base balance, bone resorption, and the formation of aqueous humor, cerebrospinal fluid, saliva, and gastric acid. They show extensive diversity in tissue distribution and in their subcellular localization. Carbonic anhydrase IX is a transmembrane protein and is one of only two tumor-associated carbonic anhydrase isoenzymes known. It is expressed in all clear-cell renal cell carcinoma, but is not detected in normal kidney or most other normal tissues. It may be involved in cell proliferation and transformation. [RefSeq].

Wnt10b Antibody: Wnt10b is a member of the Wnt family, a gene family that encodes secreted signaling proteins that play crucial roles in normal development such as regulation of cell fate and patterning during embryogenesis as well as neoplastic transformation. Wnt10b is found in the mouse mammary tumor virus insertion site where it is activated and causes mammary tumors. Elevated levels of Wnt10b have also been detected in human breast carcinomas. Wnt10b is known to be involved in adipogenesis, maintaining the preadipocyte in an undifferentiated state. More recently, Wnt10b has been shown to promote epithelial cell differentiation and hair shaft growth, demonstrating that Wnt10b has multiple roles in cell growth and differentiation.

Description:
Heat Shock Protein beta -11 (HSPB11) is a stress-responsive protein that is required to deal with proteotoxic stresses. HSPB11 is composed of an IFT complex B composed of IFT88, IFT57, TRAF3IP1, IFT52, IFT27, HSPB11 and IFT20 and is detected in placenta. HSPB11 has beeb shown to form oligomeric complexes and prevent the aggregation of in vitro denaturated aldolase and glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase in accordance with the chaperone model of HSPB1 and HSPB5. HSPB11 overexpression protected against etoposide-induced cell death that correlated with a decreased release of mitochondrial Cytochrome C into the cytosol. Inhibition of HSP90 function completely abrogated the protective effect of HSPB11. This data suggests that at least in the case of HSPB11, interaction with other chaperone machines besides HSPA1A may contribute to functional specificity and cellular functioning.

Basic fibroblast growth factor (FGF-basic), also known as FGF-2, is expressed by endothelial cells and is a mediator of angiogenesis. FGF-basic also has cardioprotective functions during heart injury. FGF-basic is a critical component for embryonic stem cell culture systems and is necessary for maintaining cells in an undifferentiated state. Degredation of the full length FGF-basic N-terminus results in a truncated FGF-basic 147aa protein, when the protein is isolated from biological sources. The N-terminus extensions influence the localization of FGF-basic within the cell, but do not affect the biological activity of FGF-basic. Therefore, there are no detectable differences in biological activity between the full length FGF-basic 154aa and the truncated FGF-basic 147aa recombinant proteins.

Toll-like receptors (TLRs) play an essential role in the detection and elimination of invading microbes. They are type-1 transmembrane receptors, containing extracellular leucine rich repeats and an intracellular Toll/interleukin-1 receptor (TIR) domain. Upon stimulation, these receptors interact with specific TIR domain-containing adaptor proteins. Five such adaptors have been discovered to date, MyD88, Mal (MyD88 adaptor-like)/TIRAP (TIR domain-containing adaptor protein), Trif (TIR-domain-containing adaptor inducing interferon-beta), TRAM (Trif-related adaptor molecule) and SARM (SAM and ARM-containing protein). DEAD box proteins, characterized by the conserved motif Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp (DEAD), are putative RNA helicases. They are implicated in a number of cellular processes involving alteration of RNA secondary structure, such as translation initiation, nuclear and mitochondrial splicing, and ribosome and spliceosome assembly. Based on their distribution patterns, some members of this family are believed to be involved in embryogenesis, spermatogenesis, and cellular growth and division. DDX5 encodes a DEAD box protein, which is a RNA-dependent ATPase, and also a proliferation-associated nuclear antigen, specifically reacting with the simian virus 40 tumor antigen. DDX5 consists of 13 exons, and alternatively spliced transcripts containing several intron sequences have been detected, but no isoforms encoded by these transcripts have been identified.

Cyclins, regulatory subunits which associate with kinases, control many of the important steps in cell cycle progression. The Cdc2 kinase (p34Cdc2) exhibits kinase activity in vitro and exists in a complex with both cyclin B and a protein homologous to p13SUC1. Cdc2 kinase is the active subunit of the M phase promoting factor (MPF) and the M phase-specific Histone H1 kinase. The p34Cdc2/cyclin B complex is required for the G2 to M transition. An additional cell cycle-dependent protein kinase, termed p55cdc, exhibits a high degree of homology with the S. cerevisiae proteins Cdc20 and Cdc4. The p55cdc transcript is readily detectable in a variety of cultured cell lines in growth phase, but disappears when cell growth is chemically arrested.
