Activin Receptor Type-1B (ACVR1B) is a single-pass type I membrane protein that belongs to the protein kinase superfamily. ACVR1B contains one GS domain and one protein kinase domain and is expressed in many tissues, most strongly in kidney, pancreas, brain, lung, and liver. ACVR1B acts as a transducer of activin or activin like ligands signals. Activin binds to either ACVR2A or ACVR2B and then forms a complex with ACVR1B, ACVR2A or ACVR2B activating ACVR1B through phosphorylation of its regulatory GS domain. They go on to recruit the R-SMADs, SMAD2 and SMAD3. ACVR1B also transducers signals of nodal, GDF-1, and Vg1. Mutations in ACVR1B are associated with pituitary tumors.

6-phosphofructo-2-kinase/fructose-2,6-bisphosphatase 1 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the PFKFB1 gene. The enzyme forms a homodimer that catalyses both the synthesis and degradation of fructose-2,6-biphosphate using independent catalytic domains. It belongs to the phosphoglycerate mutase family. Fructose-2,6-biphosphate is an activator of the glycolysis pathway and an inhibitor of the gluconeogenesis pathway. Consequently, regulating fructose-2,6-biphosphate levels through the activity of this enzyme is thought to regulate glucose homeostasis.

Myc-Associated Factor X (MAX) is a member of the basic helix-loop-helix leucine zipper (bHLHZ) family of transcription factors. It contains 1 basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) domain. It is found in the brain, heart, and lung at high levels while lower levels are seen in the liver, kidney, and skeletal muscle. MAX forms a sequence-specific DNA-binding protein complex with MYC or MAD which recognizes the core sequence 5'-CAC[GA]TG-3'. The MYC-MAX complex is a transcriptional activator, whereas the MAD-MAX complex is a repressor. It may repress transcription via the recruitment of a chromatin remodeling complex containing H3 'Lys-9' histone methyltransferase activity.

Eukaryotic Translation Initiation Factor 4E-Binding Protein 1 (4EBP1) is a number of the eIF4E-binding protein family. 4EBP1 regulates eIF4E activity by preventing its assembly into the eIF4F complex. 4EBP1 mediates the regulation of protein translation by hormones, growth factors and other stimuli that signal through the MAP kinase and mTORC1 pathways. Non-phosphorylated 4EBP1 competes with EIF4G1/EIF4G3 to interact with EIF4E. 4EBP1 is phosphorylated in response to various signals including insulin signaling, resulting in its dissociation from eIF4E and activation of mRNA translation. 4EBP1 has a role in progression of breast neoplasms through cell signaling.

It may act as a tRNA-specific ribonuclease that abolishes protein synthesis by specifically hydrolyzing cellular tRNAs. Angiogenin is a potent stimulator of new blood vessel formation. And Angiogenin is endocytosed and translocated to the nucleus by binding to actin on the surface of endothelial cells. Angiogenic activity is regulated by interaction with RNH1 in vivo. ALK-3 is a type I receptor for bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) which belong to the protein kinase superfamily, TKL Ser/Thr protein kinase family and TGFB receptor subfamily. The BMP receptors consists of the type I receptors BMPR1A and BMPR1B and the type I I receptor BMPR2. Seven known type I serine/threonine kinases and five mammalian type II serine/threonine kinase receptors function in TGF-beta superfamily signal transduction. The downstream molecules of the type I BMP receptors include the Smad (Smad1, 5 and 8) proteins that are phosphorylated in a ligand-dependent manner, and relay the BMP signal from the receptors to target genes in the nucleus. Type II receptors phosphorylate and activate type I receptors which autophosphorylate, then bind and activate SMAD transcriptional regulators. ALK-3 contains a GS domain and a protein kinase domain. ALK-3 is widely expressed. Defects in BMPR1A gene are a cause of a significant proportion of cases of Juvenile polyposis syndrome (JPS).

IL20RA is synthetized a 553 amino acid glycoprotein precursor containing a 29 amino acid signal peptide, a 221 amino acid extracellular domain with two fibronectin type-III domains, a 24 amino acid transmembrane region, and a 279 amino acid intracellular domain. IL20RA is widely expressed with highest levels found in skin and testis and high levels in brain. IL20RA forms a heterodimer with IL20RB, and the complex serves as a receptor for IL19, IL20 and IL24. Lipocalin-2 (LCN2) is also known as oncogene 24p3 or neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL), MSFI, The binding of lipocalin-2 to bacterial siderophores is important in the innate immune response to bacterial infection. Upon encountering invading bacteria the toll-like receptors on immune cells stimulate the synthesis and secretion of lipocalin-2. Secreted lipocalin-2 then limits bacterial growth by sequestering iron-containing siderophores. Lipocalin-2 also functions as a growth factor. LCN2 is strongly upregulated during inflammation and is upregulated by interleukin 1 (but not TNF alpha) in humans. Cluster of differentiation 10 (CD10) is also known as membrane metallo-endopeptidase, neutral endopeptidase (NEP), Neprilysin, and common acute lymphoblastic leukemia antigen (CALLA), is a 90-110-kDa type II transmembrane glycoprotein normally expressed by a variety of tissues, including epithelial cells of the prostate, kidney, intestine, endometrium, adrenal glands, and lung. CD20 is thought to be the rate-limiting degrading enzyme of amyloid β peptide (Aβ) whose abnormal misfolding and aggregation in neural tissue has been implicated in the development of Alzheimer's disease (AD). CD10 is also identified as the common acute lymphoblastic leukemia antigen (CALLA) present on leukemic cells of pre-B phenotype, and thus serves as the most important biomarker in the diagnosis of human acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL).
