CD85J / LILRB1 Contains 4 Ig-like C2-type (immunoglobulin-like) domains. CD85J / LIR-1 is expressed predominantly on B-cells and monocytes. CD85J is receptor for class I MHC antigens and recognizes a broad spectrum of HLA-A, HLA-B, HLA-C and HLA-G alleles and is also receptor for H301/UL18, a human cytomegalovirus class I MHC homolog. Ligand binding results in inhibitory signals and down-regulation of the immune response. CD85J / LILRB1 interaction with HLA-B or HLA-E leads to inhibition of the signal triggered by FCER1A and inhibits serotonin release. CD85J / LILRB1 inhibits FCGR1A-mediated phosphorylation of cellular proteins and mobilization of intracellular calcium ions.

Description:   Carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesion molecule 8 (CEACAM8) is also known as CD66b (Cluster of Differentiation 66b), CD66b, CD67, CGM6, NCA-95, and is one of seven human CEACAM family members within the immunoglobulin superfamily. CEACAM family members are a set of widely expressed proteins involved in several biological functions, including cell adhesion, migration, signal transduction, and the regulation of gene expression. Abnormal overexpression and downregulation of some CEACAMs have been described in tumor cells. In humans, CEACAMs include type I transmembrane proteins (CEACAM1, CEACAM3, and CEACAM4) and GPI-linked molecules (CEACAM5 through CEACAM8). There is no human CEACAM2. Description:   erpin F1 (SERPINF1) is also known as Pigment epithelium-derived factor (PEDF), Cell proliferation-inducing gene 35 protein (PIG35). Serpin F1 belongs to the serpin family. Serpin F1 is expressed in quiescent cells. PEDF has a variety of functions including antiangiogenic, antitumorigenic, and neurotrophic properties. Description:   Ectodysplasin A receptor (EDAR) is a type I transmembrane protein of the TNF- alpha receptor superfamily which plays a key role in ectodermal differentiation. EDAR was encoded by the mouse down less gene and defective in human dominant and recessive forms of autosomal hypo hidrotic ectodermal dysplasia (EDA) syndrome. The extracellular domain of EDAR contains 14 cysteine residues, six of which approximate the TNFRSF cysteine-rich region, the cytoplasmic domain contains a region with homology to the death domains found in other TNFRSF members. EDAR has been suggested to be an early and important promoter of placode development in all ectodermal organs, such as uch as hair follicles, teeth and sweat glands. EDA-A1, the A1 isoform of EDA, is the EDAR ligand. EDA and EDA are implicated in appendage development by the cloning of a gene underlying hypo hidrotic ectodermal dysplasia (HED) in mouse and human. HED is Characterised by agenesis or malformation of ectoderm-derived appendages, such as teeth, sweat glands and hair follicles, while the skin itself develops normally.

Description:   Interleukin-4 (IL-4) is a pleiotropic cytokine that regulates diverse T and B cell responses including cell proliferation, survival and gene expression. IL-4 is produced by mast cells, T cells, and bone marrow stromal cells. IL-4 regulates the differentiation of naive CD4+ T cells into helper Th2 cells, Characterised by their cytokine-secretion profile that includes secretion of IL-4, IL-5, IL-6, IL-10, and IL-13, which favour a humoral immune response. Description:   Cadherin-16(CDH16) is a single-pass type I membrane protein which contains six cadherin domains. Mature cadherin proteins consist of a large N-terminal extracellular domain, a single membrane-spanning domain, and a small highly conserved C-terminal cytoplasmic domain. Cadherins are calcium-dependent cell adhesion proteins and may contribute to the sorting of heterogeneous cell types. They preferentially interact with themselves in a homophilic manner in connecting cells. Three calcium ions are usually bound at the interface of each cadherin domain and rigidify the connections, imparting a strong curvature to the full-length ectodomain. CDH16 is exclusively expressed in kidney, where the protein functions as the principal mediator of homotypic cellular recognition. It plays a role in the morphogenic direction of tissue development. CDH16 is composed of an extracellular domain containing 6 cadherin domains, a transmembrane region and a truncated cytoplasmic domain. Description:   IFN-γ is an acid-labile interferon produced by CD4 and CD8 T lymphocytes as well as activated NK cells. IFN-γ receptors are present in most immune cells, which respond to IFN-γ signaling by increasing the surface expression of class I MHC proteins. This promotes the presentation of antigen to T-helper (CD4+) cells. IFN-γ signaling in antigen-presenting cells and antigen-recognizing B and T lymphocytes regulate the antigen-specific phases of the immune response. Additionally, IFN-γ stimulates a number of lymphoid cell functions including the anti-microbial and anti-tumor responses of macrophages, NK cells, and neutrophils.
