Cell surface glycoprotein CD200 Receptor 1 (CD200R1) is the receptor for the CD200 (OX-2) membrane glycoprotein. CD200R1 contains one C2- type Ig-like domain and one V-type Ig-like domain within its extracellular domain and a PTB-signaling motif in cytoplasmic domain. CD200R1 and CD200 associate via their respective N-terminal Ig-like domains. CD200R1 is restricted primarily to mast cells, basophils, macrophages, and dendritic cells. GM-CSF is a hematopoietic growth factor that stimulates the development of neutrophils and macrophages and promotes the proliferation and development of early erythroid megakaryocytic and eosinophilic progenitor cells. It is produced in by endothelial cells, monocytes, fibroblasts and T-lymphocytes. GM-CSF inhibits neutrophil migration and enhances the functional activity of the mature end-cells. The human and murine molecules are species-specific and exhibit no cross-species reactivity. Recombinant rat GM-CSF is a 14.5 kDa globular protein consisting of 128 amino acids residues. Recombinant human GM-CSF is a 14.6 kDa globular protein consisting of 128 amino acids containing two intramolecular disulfide bonds and two potential N-linked glycosylation sites. Recombinant murine GM-CSF (40-621) is a 14.5 kDa globular protein consisting of 128 amino acids residues.

Limitin, also called IFN-ζ, is a secreted interferon (IFN)-like glycoprotein. Limitin has approximately 30% sequence homology with IFN- alpha, IFN- beta , and IFN-ω and binds to the IFN- alpha/ beta receptors. Like IFN- alpha and IFN- beta , limitin has antiproliferative, immunomodulatory, and antiviral properties, it is unique in lacking influence on myeloid and erythroid progenitors. Similar dose requirement between limitin and IFN- alpha was observed for the enhancement of cytotoxic T lymphocyte activity, the augmentation of MHC class I expression, and the growth inhibition of a myelomonocytic leukaemia cell line.

OX40 binds to receptors on T-cells, preventing them from dying and subsequently increasing cytokine production. OX40 has a critical role in the maintenance of an immune response. OX40:Fc was shown to prevent OX40 from reaching the T-cell receptors, thus reducing the T-cell response. BAFF is mainly produced by innate immune cells such as neutrophils, monocytes, macrophages, dendritic cells, follicular dendritic cells. T cells, activated B cells, some malignant B cells and also non-lymphoid cells like astrocytes, synoviocytes and epithelial cells can also produce BAFF. BAFF binds three distinct receptors (BAFF-R, TACI and BCMA) expressed predominantly on B cells, although activated T cells also express BAFF-R. BAFF is a master regulator of peripheral B cell survival, and together with IL-6, promotes Ig class-switching and plasma cell differentiation . Besides its major role in B cell biology, BAFF co-stimulates activated T cells. Deregulated expression of BAFF leads to autoimmune disorders in mice. In humans, elevated levels of soluble BAFF have been detected in the serum of patients with various autoimmune diseases, such as Sjögren’s syndrome , Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) , Multiple sclerosis (MS) and Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) . BAFF is also increased levels in some lymphoid cancers.
