Heat Shock Protein beta -11 (HSPB11) is a stress-responsive protein that is required to deal with proteotoxic stresses. HSPB11 is composed of an IFT complex B composed of IFT88, IFT57, TRAF3IP1, IFT52, IFT27, HSPB11 and IFT20 and is detected in placenta. HSPB11 has beeb shown to form oligomeric complexes and prevent the aggregation of in vitro denaturated aldolase and glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase in accordance with the chaperone model of HSPB1 and HSPB5. HSPB11 overexpression protected against etoposide-induced cell death that correlated with a decreased release of mitochondrial Cytochrome C into the cytosol. Inhibition of HSP90 function completely abrogated the protective effect of HSPB11. This data suggests that at least in the case of HSPB11, interaction with other chaperone machines besides HSPA1A may contribute to functional specificity and cellular functioning.

Cyclin-Dependent Kinase 4 Inhibitor C (CDKN2C) is a member of the INK4 family of cyclin dependent kinase inhibitors. CDKN2C contains 4 ANK repeats and interacts with CDK4 or CDK6. Highest levels of CDKN2C can be found in skeletal muscle, pancreas, and heart. CDKN2C inhibits cell growth and proliferation with a correlated dependence on endogenous retinoblastoma protein RB and prevent the activation of the CDK kinases. Studies have been shown the roles of CDKN2C gene in regulating spermatogenesis, as well as in suppressing tumorigenesis.

Phosphopantothenoylcysteine Decarboxylase (PPC-DC) is an essential enzyme in the biosynthesis ofCoenzyme A and catalyzes the decarboxylation of PPC to Phosphopantetheine. PPC-DC catalyzes the decarboxylation of the Cysteine moiety of 4-Phosphopantothenoylcysteine (PPC) to form 4-Phosphopantetheine (PPantSH), this reaction forms part of the biosynthesis of Coenzyme A. Members of the glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) family, including GDNF and Neurturin, play key roles in the control of vertebrate neuronal survivial and differentiation. GDNF is a glycosylated, disulfide-bonded homodimer that is distantly related to the TGF superfamily of growth factors. Three receptors for these factors, GFR alpha-1, GFR alpha-2, and GFR alpha-3 have been identified. The receptors do not contain transmembrane domains and are attached to the cell membrane by glycosyl-phosphoinositol linkage. Both GFR alpha-1 and GFR alpha-2 have been shown to mediate the GDNF-dependent and Neurturin-dependent phosphorylation and activation of the tyrosine kinase Ret. GFR-3 is expressed only during development. GFR alpha-2 binds Neurturin and mediates activation of RET receptor tyrosine kinase by both Neurturin and GDNF.

CD46 is a type I membrane protein containing four Sushi domains. CD46 is expressed by all cells except erythrocytes. CD46 has cofactor activity for inactivation of complement components C3b and C4b by serum factor I, which protects the host cell from damage by complement. It may be involved in the fusion of the spermatozoa with the oocyte during fertilization. CD46 also acts as a costimulatory factor for T-cells which induces the differentiation of CD4+ into T-regulatory 1 cells. T-regulatory 1 cells suppress immune responses by secreting interleukin-10, and therefore are thought to prevent autoimmunity. A number of viral and bacterial pathogens exploit this property and directly induce an immunosuppressive phenotype in T-cells by binding to CD46. CD46 acts as a receptor for the Edmonston strain of measles virus, human herpesvirus-6, and type IV pili of pathogenic Neisseria.

Cysteine-rich secretory protein 3 (CRISP-3) is a secreted protein,containing 1 SCP domain and 1 ShKT domain.It is belongs to the CRISP family. CRISP-3 is a glycoprotein that belongs to the family of cysteine-rich secretory proteins (CRISPs) which was originally discovered in human neutrophilic granulocytes. CRISP-3 is also widely distibuted in exocrine glands (salivary glands, pancreas and prostate), eosinophilic granulocytes and to a lower level in epididymis, ovary, thymus and colon. The presence of CRISP-3 in neutrophils, eosinophils and in exocrine secretions indicates a role in innate host defense. The antibody has been raised against recombinant C-terminally truncated form of CRISP-3 and recognizes both the N-glycosylated and non-glycosylated form of the mature protein.

Inter-Cellular Adhesion Molecule 1 (ICAM1) is a type of intercellular adhesion molecule continuously present in low concentrations in the membranes of leukocytes and endothelial cells. As an endothelial and leukocyte-associated transmembrane protein, ICAM1 is well known for its importance in stabilizing cell-cell interactions and facilitating leukocyte endothelial transmigration. The presence of heavy glycosylation and other structural characteristics lend ICAM1 binding sites for a number of immune-associated ligands. Notably, ICAM-1 binds to macrophage adhesion ligand-1 (Mac-1; ITGB2 / ITGAM), leukocyte function associated antigen-1 (LFA-1/integrin), and fibrinogen.ICAM-1 expressed by respiratory epithelial cells is also the binding site for rhinovirus, the causative agent of most common colds.
