Neomycin phosphotransferase II (nptII) gene is used in selection of transformed organisms. It was initially isolated from the transposon Tn5 that was present in the bacterium strain Escherichia coli K12. The gene codes for the aminoglycoside 3'-phosphotransferase (denoted aph(3')-II or NPTII) enzyme. NPTII is probably the most widely used selectable marker for plant transformation. It is also used in gene expression and regulation studies in different organisms in part because N-terminal fusions can be constructed that retain enzymatic activity. In animal cells, G418 and neomycin are used as selectable agents.

Anosmin-1 has been shown to directly bind FGFR1 via its N-terminal cysteine-rich domain, whey-acidic protein-like domain, and its first FnIII repeat with the D2 and D3 ectodomains of FGFR1. It is thought that Anosmin-1 can modulate FGFR1 signaling and have opposing effects on the formation and activation of FGF2-FGFR1-heparing complex.

STEAP1 Antibody: The six-transmembrane epithelial antigen of prostate 1 (STEAP1) was the first member of a family of metalloreductases identified as cell-surface antigens in prostate tissue. The normal function of STEAP is still uncertain; unlike other members of the STEAP family, STEAP1 does not promote iron or copper reduction or uptake and lacks the FNO-like reductase domain critical for activity. However, its expression is highly increased in multiple cancer cell lines, including prostate, bladder, colon, and ovarian cancers. Supporting this is evidence that STEAP1 peptides can be used to stimulate CD8+ T cells from healthy donors, enabling them to recognize STEAP1-positive human tumor cells, suggesting that STEAP1 may a potential target for cancer immunotherapy. At least three isoforms of STEAP1 are known to exist.

KIF5 Antibody: The kinesin superfamily proteins (KIFs) are microtubule-dependent motors that slide along microtubules and transport cellular organelles and mRNA to different parts of the cell. In neurons, KIF5 performs this role in an anterograde fashion from the neuronal cell body to axonal or dendritic terminals. KIF5 was initially differentiated from the ubiquitously expressed kinesin as being highly enriched in subsets of neurons and selectively concentrated in the cell body. KIF5 has at least three known isoforms; this antibody recognizes all three. Mutations in one of the isoforms of KIF5 (KIF5A) are thought to be involved in hereditary spastic paraplegias.
