Description:
ALX4 is a member of the ALX homeobox gene family in humans. The paired-type homeodomain has been shown to mediate high-affinity sequence-specific DNA binding to palindromic elements as either homodimers or as heterodimers with other family members.
Description:
MTERFD2 Antibody: Members of the mTERF (mitochondrial transcription termination factor) family, are mitochondrial proteins that are believed to be transcription termination factors. MTERFD2 is targeted to the mitochondria and is ubiquitously expressed, with highest expression levels in fore- and midbrain, diencephalon, spinal cord, tongue, lung liver and kidney. MTERFD2 has been suggested to play a role in organ differentiation during embryogenesis. A closely related mTERF family member, MTERFD3, is believed to be involved in cell cycle regulation and cell growth by modulating mitochondrial transcription.
Description:
The 26S proteasome is a multicatalytic proteinase complex with a highly ordered structure composed of 2 complexes, a 20S core and a 19S regulator. The 20S core is composed of 4 rings of 28 non-identical subunits; 2 rings are composed of 7 alpha subunits and 2 rings are composed of 7 beta subunits. The 19S regulator is composed of a base, which contains 6 ATPase subunits and 2 non-ATPase subunits, and a lid, which contains up to 10 non-ATPase subunits. Proteasomes are distributed throughout eukaryotic cells at a high concentration and cleave peptides in an ATP/ubiquitin-dependent process in a non-lysosomal pathway. An essential function of a modified proteasome, the immunoproteasome, is the processing of class I MHC peptides. Description:
PSMD4 encodes one of the non-ATPase subunits of the 19S regulator lid which is part of a multicatalytic proteinase complex of the 26S proteasome.
Description:
Proteins of the matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) family are involved in the breakdown of extracellular matrix in normal physiological processes, such as embryonic development, reproduction, and tissue remodeling. They are also involved in disease processes, such as arthritis and metastasis. Most MMP's are secreted as inactive proproteins which are activated when cleaved by extracellular proteinases. The function of MMP-19 has not been determined. This gene corresponding to this protein was previously referred to as MMP18 but has been renamed matrix metalloproteinase 19 (MMP19). Multiple transcript variants encoding distict isoforms have been identified for this gene.
Description:
The c-Jun proto-oncogene was first identified as the cellular homolog of the avian sarcoma virus v-Jun oncogene. The c-Jun protein, along with c-Fos, is a component of the AP-1 transcriptional complex. c-Jun can form either Jun/Jun homodimers or Jun/Fos heterodimers via the leucine repeats in both proteins. Jun B and Jun D, have been shown to be almost identical to c-Jun in their C-terminal regions, which are involved in dimerization and DNA binding, whereas their N-terminal domains, which are involved in transcriptional activation, diverge. JunB is involved in many types of human carcinoma including T-cell lymphomas, CML,primary cutaneous lymphomas. Aberrantly expressed c-Jun and JunB are a hallmark of Hodgkin lymphoma cells, stimulate proliferation and synergize with NF-kappa B. JunB potentiates function of BRCA1 activation domain 1 (AD1) through a coiled-coil-mediated interaction.JunB is an important regulator of erythroid Differentiation.
Description:
ZMYND11 was first identified by its ability to bind the adenovirus E1A protein. The protein localizes to the nucleus. It functions as a transcriptional repressor, and expression of E1A inhibits this repression.
Description:
DDX41 Antibody: DEAD box proteins, characterized by the conserved motif Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp, are putative RNA helicases implicated in several cellular processes involving modifications of RNA secondary structure such as translation initiation, nuclear and mitochondrial splicing, and ribosome and spliceosome assembly. DDX41, also known as Abstrakt, interacts with and regulates the expression of sorting nexin-2 (SNX2), a protein involved in protein sorting in the trans-Golgi network. Recent evidence suggests that DDX41 also plays a role in the innate immune response by sensing intracellular viral DNA, triggering TBK1 and IRF3 activation, leading to a type I interferon immune response.
Description:
GABARAP Antibody: Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) is the main inhibitory transmitter by increasing a Cl-conductance that inhibits neuronal firing in the central nervous system. It has been shown to activate both ionotropic (GABAA) and metabotropic (GABAB) receptors as well as a third class of receptors called GABAC. GABARAP (GABAA receptor-associated protein) links GABAA receptors to the cytoskeleton and may play a role in intracellular transport of GABAA receptors and its interaction with the cytoskeleton. GABARAP belongs to the MAP1 or ATG8 like family and recent studies show that MAPK15/ERK8 is acting through interaction with ATG8 family proteins to regulate autophagy.
Description:
SIRT3 is a member of the sirtuin family of proteins, homologs to the yeast Sir2 protein. Members of the sirtuin family are characterized by a sirtuin core domain and grouped into four classes. The functions of human sirtuins have not yet been determined; however, yeast sirtuin proteins are known to regulate epigenetic gene silencing and suppress recombination of rDNA. Studies suggest that the human sirtuins may function as intracellular regulatory proteins with mono-ADP-ribosyltransferase activity. The protein encoded by this gene is included in class I of the sirtuin family.
Description:
WAC Antibody: The WW domain containing adaptor with coiled-coil protein (WAC) contains a WW domain that mediates protein-protein interactions and colocalizes with RNA splicing factor SC35. Further studies have indicated that WAC is a functional partner of the RNF20/40 complex that ubiquitinates Histone H2B, and that WAC regulates H2B ubiquitination. WAC targets RNF20/40 to associate with RNA polymerase II complex for H2B ubiquitination at active transcription sites. WAC-dependent transcription is also important for cell-cycle checkpoint activation in response to genotoxic stress.
