Recognises proteins of 31-44 kDa, which are identified as Clathrin Light Chains (both A & B). Clathrin is composed of three heavy chains and three light chains, which associate non-covalently to form a triskelion structure. Clathrin light chain regulates the self-assembly of triskelions onto intracellular membranes. Clathrin light chain subunits (LCA and LCB) contribute to regulation of coated vesicle formation to sort proteins during receptor-mediated endocytosis and organelle biogenesis. LCA and LCB are encoded by two discrete genes. They share only 60% homology, and have certain features in common. Both LCA and LCB undergo alternative mRNA splicing, which results in the generation of tissue-specific isoforms.

Description:
Follicle-stimulating hormone receptor (FSHR) is a 695 amino acid G protein coupled receptor. FSH binds to the receptor in a hand-clasp fashion via its alpha and beta subunits. While the alpha subunit of FSH is involved in the binding of FSH to the receptor, the beta subunit stabilizes this interaction. Linkage studies suggest that a missense mutation in the FSHR gene can cause reduced FSH binding affinity and lead to a condition known as hypergonadotropic ovarian dysgenesis (ODG). In males however, this mutation does not appear to have a detrimental affect on fertility. It is believed that a mutation in the FSHR gene is also associated with ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome; a condition characterised by the presence of multiple serous and hemorrhagic follicular cysts lined by luteinized cells.

Description:
This mAb shows specificity to E. coli O157 in a simple ELISA. Escherichia coli are Gram negative bacterium that are commonly found in the lower intestine of warm-blooded organisms (endotherms). Their serological types are determined in combination with somatic antigens (O group: O1-O173) and flagella antigens (H type: H1-H56). The E. coli that cause intestinal infectious diseases including diarrhea, acute gastritis or colitis are referred to as pathogenic E. coli, which are classified into the following four groups according to differences in the mode of pathogenicity; enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC), enteroinvasive E. coli (EIEC), enterotoxigenic E. coli (ETEC) and enterohemorrhagic E. coli (EHEC). Although the identification of pathogenic E. coli requires verification of their pathogenicity, pathogenic E. coli often have specific serotypes; therefore, typing of the serogroup and serotype is necessary in screening pathogenic E. coli.

It recognises a ~90-95 kDa protein which is identified as cell surface transferrin receptor (CD71), a disulfide-bonded homodimeric glycoprotein of 180-190 kDa. This MAb is highly specific to CD71 and shows no cross-reaction with other related proteins. Ligand for transferrin receptor is the serum iron transport protein, transferrin. This receptor is broadly distributed in carcinomas, sarcomas, leukemias, and lymphomas. CD71/Transferrin receptor has been reported to be associated with cell proliferation in both normal and neoplastic tissues and useful in predicting clinical behavior or response to therapy in a number of malignancies including breast cancer.

Expression of NKX2.2 has been found in neuroendocrine tumors of the gut, making it a potential marker for the study of gastrointestinal neuroendocrine tumors. More recently, NKX2.2 protein was identified as a target of EWS-FLI-1, the fusion protein specific to Ewing sarcoma, and was shown to be differentially upregulated in Ewing sarcoma on the basis of array-based gene expression analysis. Antibody to NKX2.2 detects a valuable marker for Ewing sarcoma, with a sensitivity of 93% and a specificity of 89%, and aids in the differential diagnosis of small round cell tumors.
