Interleukin-20 Receptor Subunit alpha (IL20RA) is a single-pass type I membrane protein that is a member of the type II cytokine receptor family. IL20RA is synthetized a 553 amino acid glycoprotein precursor containing a 29 amino acid signal peptide, a 221 amino acid extracellular domain with two fibronectin type-III domains, a 24 amino acid transmembrane region, and a 279 amino acid intracellular domain. IL20RA is widely expressed with highest levels found in skin and testis and high levels in brain. IL20RA forms a heterodimer with IL20RB, and the complex serves as a receptor for IL19, IL20 and IL24. IL20RA also forms a heterodimer with the unique and specific receptor IL10RB and functions as the receptor for IL26.

Dermatopontin, also known as Tyrosine-rich acidic matrix protein, TRAMP and DPT, is a secreted protein which belongs to the dermatopontin family. DPT is expressed in various tissues, such as fibroblasts, heart, skeletal muscle, brain and pancreas. It seems to mediate adhesion by cell surface integrin binding. DPT may serve as a communication link between the dermal fibroblast cell surface and its extracellular matrix environment. DPT can enhance TGFB1 activity through interaction with decorin. In addition, DPT accelerates collagen fibril formation, stabilizes collagen fibrils against low-temperature dissociation and inhibits cell proliferation.

APOC2 activates the lipoprotein lipase in capillaries, which hydrolyzes triglycerides and thus provides free fatty acids for cells. APOC2 is component of the very low density lipoprotein (VLDL) fraction in plasma. It is also an activator of several triacylglycerol lipases. The association of APOC2 with plasma chylomicrons, VLDL, and HDL is reversible, a function of the secretion and catabolism of triglyceride-rich lipoproteins, and changes rapidly. Bone morphogenetic protein 2 (BMP-2) is a member of the BMP subgroup of the TGF-beta superfamily. It plays a dominant role in embryonic dorsalventral patterning, organogenesis, limb bud formation and bone formation and regeneration. Insulin-like growth factors (IGFs) comprise a family of endocrine, paracrine and autocrine polypeptides consisting of the ligands IGF1 and IGF2, two receptors (IGF1R, IGF2R), at least 6 IGF-binding proteins (IGFBPs) and IGFBP proteases. Among the binding proteins, IGFBP6 is unique because of its N-terminal disulphide linkages and its marked binding preference for IGF2. It is a potent inhibitor of the interaction between IGF2 and its receptor IGF1R, thus preventing major functions of IGF2, such as induction of proliferation, differentiation, cell adhesion, or colony formation. In particular, IGFBP-6 inhibited the growth of neuroblastoma and rhabdomyosarcoma xenografts. GFBP-6 is expressed in many tissues, including lung, liver, gut and the central nervous system.
