Activin receptor type-1, also known as Activin receptor type I, Activin receptor-like kinase 2, Serine/threonine-protein kinase receptor R1, TGF-B superfamily receptor type I, ACVRLK2 and ACVR1, is a single-pass type I membrane protein. ACVR1 is expressed in normal parenchymal cells, endothelial cells, fibroblasts and tumor-derived epithelial cells. ACVR1 belongs to the protein kinase superfamily. Activins signal through a heteromeric complex of receptor serine kinases which include at least two type I (I and IB) and two type II (II and IIB) receptors. These receptors are all transmembrane proteins, composed of a ligand-binding extracellular domain with cysteine-rich region, a transmembrane domain, and a cytoplasmic domain with predicted serine/threonine specificity. Type I receptors are essential for signaling; and type II receptors are required for binding ligands and for expression of type I receptors. Type I and II receptors form a stable complex after ligand binding, resulting in phosphorylation of type I receptors by type II receptors. ACVR1 signals a particular transcriptional response in concert with activin type II receptors.

TNF-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL; Apo2L;CD253; TNFSF10) is a type II transmembrane protein of about 34kDa. Like most members of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily of cytokines TRAIL can be cleaved at the cell surface by metalloproteases to form a soluble molecule. CSF1R is a receptor for a cytokine called colony stimulating factor 1, The protein encoded by the CSFR1 gene is the receptor for colony stimulating factor 1, a cytokine which controls the production, differentiation, and function of macrophages. This receptor mediates most, if not all, of the biological effects of this cytokine. Ligand binding activates CSFR1 through a process of oligomerisation and transphosphorylation . Mutations in CSF1R are associated with chronic myelomonocytic leukemia and type M4 acute myeloblastic leukemia. Increased levels of CSF1R1 are found in microglia in Alzheimer's disease and after brain injuries. The increased receptor expression causes microglia to become more active. Both CSF1R, and its ligand colony stimulating factor 1 play an important role in the development of the mammary gland and may be involved in the process of mammary gland carcinogenesis.

Integrin alpha-5 belongs to the Integrin alpha chain family and contains 7 FG-GAP repeats. Interleukin-1 Receptor Accessory Protein (IL-1RAcP) is a member of the interleukin-1 receptor family. It contains three Ig-like C2-type domains in the extracellular region and a long cytoplasmic domain implicated in signal transduction. IL-1RAcP acts as a non-ligand binding accessory component of the receptors for IL1 alpha, IL1 beta and IL33. IL-1RAcP mediates interleukin-1-dependent activation of NF-kappa-B. It is part of the membrane-bound form of the IL-1 receptor. IL-1 RAcP takes part in the Signaling ways by the formation of a ternary complex containing IL1R1, TOLLIP, MYD88, and IRAK1 or IRAK2. In addition, IL-1RAcP modulates the response to interleukins by associating with soluble IL1R1 and enhancing interleukin-binding to the decoy receptor.
