EpCAM is also known as CO171A, EGP, EGP40, GA7332, KSA, M4S, MIC18, MK1, TROP1, hEGP2, and is a pan-epithelial differentiation antigen that is expressed on almost all carcinomas as 17-1A(mAb) antigen. Its constitutional function is being elucidated. It is intricately linked with the Cadherin-Catenin pathway and hence the fundamental WNT pathway responsible for intracellular signaling and polarity. The epithelial cell adhesion molecule (Ep-CAM) is known to express in most epithelial malignancies and was reported as a tumor marker or a candidate of molecular targeting therapy.
Ep-CAM cross signaling with N-cadherin involves Pi3K, resulting in the abrogation of the cadherin adhesion complexes in epithelial cells was reported. And Epithelial cell adhesion molecule (Ep-CAM) recently received increased attention as a prognostic factor in breast cancer.

Description:
Mouse coagulation factor X / F10 a member of the peptidase S1 family. The mature F10 is composed mostly of two EGF-like domains, one Gla gamma-carboxy-glutamate domain and one peptidase S1 domain. Factor Xa is a vitamin K-dependent plasma protease that converts prothrombin to thrombin in the presence of factor Va, calcium and phospholipid during blood clotting. The two chains of F10 are formed from a single-chain precursor by the excision of two Arg residues. A single-chain precursor is initially Synthesised in the liver. The light and heavy chains are linked together by disulfide bonds. The light chain contains a Gla and two EGF-like domains. The heavy chain corresponds to the serine protease domain. It can form a heterodimer with SERPINA5.

Description:
Nectin-2( CD112) is a member of the nectin family, which contains two Ig-like C2-type domains and one Ig-like V-type domain in the extracellular region. Nectins are type I transmembrane glycoproteins that are calcium-independent immunoglobulin (Ig)-like cell adhesion molecules (CAMs). Nectin2 is widely expressed in human tissues including brain, spinal cord, spleen, kidney, heart and liver. It can form trans-heterodimers with PVRL3/nectin-3 and interacts with CD226. Mutations of alleles of the murine CD112 gene can result in conditions such as morphologically aberrant spermatozoa. It may function in allergic reactions, and accordingly may used as a novel target for anti-allergic therapy.

Cbl proteins are a family of ubiquitin protein ligases (E3s) that negatively regulate signaling by targeting activated tyrosine kinases for degradation. Cbl-c (a.k.a. Cbl-3) is the most recently cloned member of the Cbl proteins and is expressed only in epithelial cells (the other Cbl proteins are ubiquitously expressed). Cbl-c, like the other mammalian Cbl proteins, can ubiquitinate the activated EGFR and target it for degradation. Cbl-c knock out mice show no obvious phenotype. At least 23 different variants of IFN- alpha are known. The individual proteins have molecular masses between 19-26 kDa and consist of proteins with lengths of 156-166 and 172 amino acids. All IFN- alpha subtypes possess a common conserved sequence region between amino acid positions 115-151 while the amino-terminal ends are variable. Many IFN- alpha subtypes only differ in their sequences by one or two positions. Naturally occurring variants also include proteins truncated by 10 amino acids at the carboxy-terminal end.

Parathyroid hormone is the most important endocrine regulator of calcium and phosphorus concentration in extracellular fluid. This hormone is secreted from cells of the parathyroid glands and finds its major target cells in bone and kidney. Another hormone, parathyroid hormone-related protein, binds to the same receptor as parathyroid hormone and has major effects on development. Like most other protein hormones, parathyroid hormone is synthesized as a preprohormone. After intracellular processing, the mature hormone is packaged within the Golgi into secretory vesicles, the secreted into blood by exocytosis. Parathyroid hormone is secreted as a linear protein of 84 amino acids.
