Description:
JAKMIP1 Antibody: JAKMIP1, also known as Marlin-1, is a highly-conserved vertebrate-specific microtubule-associated protein that plays a role in JAK1 signaling and regulate microtubule cytoskeleton rearrangements. JAKMIP1 is expressed predominantly in neuronal and lymphoid cells and colocalizes with microtubules. Multiple isoforms of JAKMIP1 are known to exist: isoforms 1 and 5 are also expressed in liver, lung and skeletal muscle, while isoforms 2-4 are specifically expressed in brain and retina. JAKMIP1 participates in polarized secretion in lymphocytes and it has been suggested to be a novel effector memory gene restraining T cell-mediated cytotoxicity. Dysregulation of JAKMIP1 gene expression is associated with genetic conditions linked to autism in humans.

Description:
BCL3 Antibody: The proto-oncogene Bcl-3, believed to be involved in certain human B cell leukemias, encodes a protein that contributes to the regulation of transcriptional activation of NF-κ-B target genes. BCL3 contains seven ankyrin repeats, which are most closely related to those found in I-κ-B proteins. The expression of this gene can be induced by NF-κ-B, which forms a part of the autoregulatory loop that controls the nuclear residence of p50 NF-κ-B. It contributes to the regulation of cell proliferation. A chromosomal aberration involving BCL3 may be a cause of B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia.

Description:
VTCN1 Antibody: T cell immunity plays a critical role in host immune surveillance of tumour cell growth and metastatic spread. VTCN1, also known as B7-H4, is a member of the B7 family of immune regulatory molecules. Expressed primarily on the membrane of lymphoid cells, VTCN1 is an immunoinhibitory protein that interacts with receptors on the surface of T lymphocytes, thus mediating cellular and humoral immune responses. Overexpression of VTCN1 is associated with certain malignancies, including ovarian and breast cancer, which may be a mechanism by which tumour cells suppress T cell immunity and facilitate tumour progression. VTCN1 may thus be a useful biomarker for the early detection of ovarian cancer.

Description:
IL-17RE Antibody: The interleukin 17 receptor E (IL-17RE) shares limited similarity to the receptor of IL-17A, a ubiquitous type I membrane glycoprotein that with IL-17A plays a pathogenic role in many inflammatory and autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis. IL-17RE is the functional receptor of IL-17C and has been suggested to mediate mucosal immunity to infection with intestinal pathogens. IL-17C is produced by epithelia in response to bacterial challenge and binds to a receptor complex formed by IL-17RE and IL-17RA on the epithelial cell surface, thereby regulating the immune function of epithelial cells in an autocrine manner.

Description:
Microfibril-associated protein 4 (MFAP4) was initially identified as a gene commonly deleted in the contiguous Smith-Magenis syndrome (SMS) gene. MFAP4 was identified as growth factor to support expansion of hematopoietic stem cells in culture. It is involved in calcium-dependent cell adhesion and intercellular interactions.

StrepII-tag Antibody: Streptavidin is a tetrameric protein purified from Streptomyces avidinii. It has wide use in numerous molecular biological protocols dues to its strong affinity for biotin. The original Strep-tag is a nine amino acid peptide with high specificity and affinity towards streptavidin. The addition of this tag to the C-terminus of recombinant proteins allowed the simple purification of protein by use of affinity columns. It was re-engineered to allow it to also placed at the N-terminus of recombinant proteins.

Description:
FABP7 Antibody: FABP7 was initially isolated from a human fetal brain cDNA library and whose mRNA was expressed in adult brain and muscle tissues at low levels. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the fatty acid binding protein (FABPs) family, a group of small, highly conserved, cytoplasmic proteins that bind long-chain fatty acids and other hydrophobic ligands. FABPs are thought to play roles in fatty acid uptake, transport, and metabolism. FABP7 is a downstream gene of the Pax6 transcription factor and has been suggested to be essential for the maintenance of neuroepithelial cells during early cortical development. More recently, FABP7 was found to be frequently expressed in melanomas. Down-regulation of FABP7 through RNAi expression could reduce in vitro cell proliferation and Matrigel invasion, suggesting that FABP7 may be a potential target for the development of diagnostic and therapeutic tools.

Description:
SLPI Antibody: Secretory leukocyte protease inhibitor (SLPI) is produced at mucosal surfaces, primarily the upper respiratory tract and is thought to play an important role in the antiprotease defense mechanism of the lung. SLPI forms inhibitory complexes with numerous proteolytic enzymes such as neutrophil elastase, and has been shown to possess anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, and antibacterial activities. Its expression in oral epithelial cells is stimulated by HIV-1 gp120, suggesting that SLPI is a component of the oral mucosal response to HIV-1. In peripheral blood monocytes, SLPI can inhibit NF-kappa B activation by inhibiting I kappa B degradation in the cytoplasm and competing for NF-kappa B binding sites in the nucleus. This attenuation of the inflammatory response may also act to suppress liver metastases and other cancer cell invasions, but promote blood-borne metastasis via an invasion-independent pathway.

Description:
RHBDF1 is a seven-transmembrane protein with a long N-terminal cytoplasmic extension that comprises half of the polypeptide sequence, and is found in the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi, but not on the cell surface. RHBDF1 has a pivotal role in sustaining growth signals in epithelial cancer cells and thus may serve as a therapeutic target for treating epithelial cancers.
