Gle1 Antibody: The proper expression of gene products in eukaryotic cells relies on efficient transport of mRNA molecules out of the nucleus. Gle1 is an essential mRNA export factor in both human and yeast cells. It associates with the nuclear pore complex (NPC) through hCG1 and NUP155 in mammalian cells and in conjunction with inositol hexakisphosphate (IP6), stimulates Dbp5, a member of the DEAD-box helicase family, triggering mRNP remodeling and facilitating RNA export from the nucleus. Recent evidence suggests that mutations in Gle1 causing defects in mRNA export can result in human disease. At least three isoforms of Gle1 are known to exist.

PIG-Y Antibody: Glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) lipid anchoring is an important post-translational modification of proteins that takes place in the endoplasmic reticulum. The synthesis of GPI is initiated by GPI-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase (GPI-GnT), a complex of proteins including PIG-A, PIG-H, PIG-C, GPI1, and DPM2. PIG-Y, the mammalian homolog to yeast Eri1p, is also thought to be involved in the biosynthesis of GPI. The PIG-Y gene encodes two proteins, one of which arises from leaky scanning of the mRNA.

West Nile Virus Matrix Antibody: West Nile Virus (WNV) is a member of the Flaviviridae, a plus-stranded virus family that includes St. Louis encephalitis virus, yellow fever virus, and Dengue virus. WNV was initially isolated in 1937 in the West Nile region of Uganda and has become prevalent in Africa, Asia, and Europe. It has rapidly spread across the United States with cases being observed in every continental state. Virus particles consist of a dense core made up of the core/capsid protein encapsulating the RNA genome surrounded by a membrane envelope embedded with envelope and matrix proteins. However, when the viruses are inside of infected cells, the matrix protein exists in its "pre-M" form as a heterodimer with the envelope proteins. Cleavage of the "pre-M" protein to its mature form occurs during release of the virus; this cleavage leas to the dissociation of the heterodimers. The WNV receptor has recently been identified as alpha v beta 3 integrin.

V-Set and Immunoglobulin Domain-Containing Protein 2 (VSIG2) is presumably a 50-60 kDa single-pass type I transmembrane (glyco)protein which contains one Ig-like C2-type (immunoglobulin-like) domain and one Ig-like V-type (immunoglobulin-like) domain. VSIG2 is highly expressed in the stomach, colon, prostate, trachea and thyroid glands and weakly in bladder and lung. V-set domains are Ig-like domains resembling the antibody variable domain. V-set domains are found in diverse protein families, including immunoglobulin light and heavy chains, in several T-cell receptors such as CD2 (Cluster of Differentiation 2), CD4, CD80, and CD86, in myelin membrane adhesion molecules, in junction adhesion molecules (JAM), in tyrosine-protein kinase receptors, and in the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD1). CD98 is a single-pass type I I membrane protein which belongs to the SLC3A transporter family. SLC3A2/MDU1 is expressed ubiquitously in all tissues tested with highest levels detected in kidney, placenta and testis and weakest level in thymus. It consists of an 85 kDa glycosylated type II transmembrane heavy chain and a 40-50 kDa non-glycosylated light chain with 12 transmembrane segments. The heavy chain (SLC3A2) pairs with one of several light chains (SLC7A5, 6, 7, 8, 10, or 11) and is required for the cell surface expression and amino acid transport function of the light chains. It is involved in guiding and targeting of LAT1 and LAT2 to the plasma membrane. It also mediates integrin signaling, T cell costimulation, B cell proliferation, and viral fusion with cell membranes.
