Aldehyde dehydrogenase, dimeric NADP-preferring is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the ALDH3A1 gene, belongs to the aldehyde dehydrogenase family. ALDHs play a major role in the detoxification of alcohol-derived acetaldehyde. They are involved in the metabolism of corticosteroids, biogenic amines, neurotransmitters, and lipid peroxidation. This protein preferentially oxidises aromatic aldehyde substrates. It may play a role in the oxidation of toxic aldehydes.

ACYP1, also known as Acylphosphatase-1, Acylphosphatase, erythrocyte isozyme, Acylphosphatase, organ-common type isozyme, Acylphosphate phosphohydrolase 1 and ACYPE, is a small cytosolic enzyme which catalyses the hydrolysis of the carboxyl-phosphate bond of acylphosphates. ACYP1 is a protein which belongs to the acylphosphatase family and contains 1 fibrinogen C-terminal domain. Two isoenzymes have been isolated, called muscle acylphosphatase and erythrocyte acylphosphatase, on the basis of their tissue localisation. This gene encodes the erythrocyte acylphosphatase isoenzyme. Alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode different proteins were identified through data analysis. Recombinant human ACYP1 protein was expressed in <i>E. coli</i> fused with HIS-tag at N-terminus.

Phosphoglucomutase-2 (PGM2) is a member of PGM family, which catalyses the inter-conversion of sugar phosphates and participates in anabolic and catabolic reactions. When cells are grown in glucose, PGM catalyses the conversion of glucose-6-phosphate to glucose-1-phosphate an important precursor required for the synthesis of UDP glucose and trehalose. PGM2 catalyses the conversion of the nucleoside breakdown products ribose-1-phosphate and deoxyribose-1-phosphate to the corresponding 5-phosphopentoses, and it may also catalyse the interconversion of glucose-1-phosphate and glucose-6-phosphate. But this protein has low glucose 1,6-bisphosphate synthase activity.

Polypeptide N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase 3(GALNT3) belongs to the glycosyltransferase 2 family and galNAc-T subfamily. Catalase (CAT) is a member of the catalase family. It exists as a homotetramer that occurs in almost all aerobically respiring organisms and serves to protect cells from the toxic effects of hydrogen peroxide. Catalase is localised in the peroxisome. Catalase promotes growth of cells including T-cells, B-cells, myeloid leukemia cells, melanoma cells, mastocytoma cells, and normal and transformed fibroblast cells. Defects in CAT are the cause of acatalasemia which is characterised by absence of catalase activity in red cells and is associated with ulcerating oral lesions.

CD73 is a glycosyl phosphatidylinositol (GPI) anchored membrane protein that belongs to the 5'-nucleotidase family. CD73 is an ecto 5'Nucleotidase expressed by most cell types. CD73 hydrolyses extracellular nucleotides into membrane permeable nucleosides. CD73 is one of several enzymes responsible for the production of extracellular adenosine, a signaling molecule that is involved in responses to inflammation and tissue injury. CD73 is a lymphocyte maturation marker that has functions independent of its catalytic activity. CD73 is also a regulator of leukocyte extravasation, a function that requires its 5'Nucleotidase activity. Defects in NT5E are the cause of calcification of joints and arteries (CAJA). RPE exists as a homodimer and catalyses the reversible epimerisation of D-ribulose 5-phosphate to D-xylulose 5-phosphate. RPE binds one divalent metal cation per subunit and contains tightly bound Fe2+ when produced in E. coli, but the physiological cofactor may be Co2+, Mn2+ or Zn2+. Chlorite dismutase (Cld) found in prokaryotic organisms, also known as Chlorite O2-lyase, is a b-type heme containing enzyme that catalyses the reduction of chlorite into chloride plus dioxygen. The subunit of chlorite dismutase consists of a heme free N-terminal and a heme b containing C-terminal ferredoxin-like fold with high structural homology to the dye-decolorizing peroxidases (DyPs). The physiological role of Cld in prokaryote has been shown that some microorganisms can use perchlorate or chlorate as terminal electron acceptors for anaerobic respiration thereby producing chlorite that must be detoxified. This enzyme has gained attention because it can be used in the development of bioremediation processes, biosensors, and controlled dioxygen production.

Carbonic Anhydrase 4 (CA4) belongs to the alpha-carbonic anhydrase family. Alpha-carbonic anhydrase is a large family of zinc metalloenzymes that catalyze the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide. Carbonic anhydrase 4 is a glycosylphosphatidyl-inositol-anchored membrane isozyme expressed on the luminal surfaces of pulmonary (and certain other) capillaries and proximal renal tubules. Carbonic anhydrase 4 may stimulate the sodium/bicarbonate transporter activity of SLC4A4 that acts in pH homeostasis. It may have a role in inherited renal abnormalities of bicarbonate transport. It is an endonuclease that cleaves phosphodiester bonds in DNA to yield oligonucleotides with 5’-phosphate and 3’-hydroxyl termini. Highly specific activity towards double-stranded DNA ensures that RNA and single-stranded DNA, such as cDNA and primers are not cleaved. dsDNase is easily inactivated by moderate heat treatment (55 °C). These features make dsDNase an excellent choice for gDNA elimination prior reverse transcription.
