Description:   Endothelial Protein C Receptor (EPCR) is a Vitamin K-dependent Serine Protease that plays a major role in blood coagulation. Binding of Protein C to EPCR leads to the proteolytic activation of PAR1 (Protease-Activated Receptor 1) on endothelial cells and subsequent up-regulation of Protein C-induced genes. EPCR is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein in the CD1/MHC family. It is expressed most strongly in the endothelial cells of arteries and veins in heart and lung. Membrane bound EPCR is released by metalloproteolytic cleavage to generate the soluble receptor. The extracellular domain of human and mouse EPCR shares approximately 61% amino acid sequence homology. EPCR plays an important role in augmenting Protein C activation by the Thrombin-Thrombomodulin complex and in regulating blood coagulation and inflammation. EPCR is found primarily on endothelial cells. Deletion of EPCR function results in embryonic death, at least in part due to placental thrombosis.

Description:   The tetrameric receptor complex for IFN gamma consists of two subunits, IFNGR1 (IFN gamma R alpha) and IFNGR2 (IFN gamma R beta ), through which the dimeric IFN- gamma exerts its biological functions, including antiviral, antiproliferation and immune-modulatory activity in mammals. Description:   RSPO1 is a secreted protein,containing 2 FU(furin-like) repeats and 1 TSP type-1 domain and belonging to the R-spondin family. RSPO1 is required for the early development of gonads, regardless of sex. It has been found in mice only eleven days after fertilization. To induce cell proliferation, it acts synergistically with WNT4. They help stabilize beta catenin, which activates downstream targets. RSPO1 is necessary in female sex development. It augments the WNT/ beta catenin pathway to oppose male sex development. In critical gonadal stages, between six and nine weeks after fertilization, the ovaries upregulate it while the testes downregulate it. RSPO1 can potentially aid in the treatment of mucositis, which is characterized by inflammation of the oral cavity. This unfortunate condition often accompanies chemotherapy and radiation in cancer patients with head and neck tumors.

It belongs to the immunoglobulin(Ig) superfamily. CD28 is one of the molecules expressed on T cells that provide co-stimulatory signals, which are required for T cell activation.CD28 co-stimulation is necessary for CD4 positive T-cell proliferation and survival, interleukin-2 production, and T-helper type-2 development. Human post-thymic regulatory T cells require CD28 co-stimulation to expand and maintain potent suppressive function in vivo. Apoptosis plays a key role in the age-related decline of CD28 expression and in immunosenescence. CD28 is the receptor for CD80 (B7.1) and CD86 (B7.2). When activated by Toll-like receptor ligands, the CD80 expression is upregulated in antigen presenting cells (APCs). The CD86 expression on antigen presenting cells is constitutive. CD28 is the only B7 receptor constitutively expressed on naive T cells.

Description:   Homeobox B4 (HOXB4) is encoded by the HOXB4 gene which is a member of the the class I homeobox (HOX) gene family and encodes a nuclear protein with a homeobox DNA-binding domain. These genes are master control regulators of developmental programs including embryonic and adult hematopoiesis. Multiple HOX genes, including HOXB4, are highly expressed in the hematopoietic stem cells (HSC) compartment. HOXB4 gene can act in opposite ways when expressed by different cells, promoting the proliferation of stem cells whilst activating the apoptotic pathway in some embryonic structures. The protein HOXB4, as a homeodomain transcription factor, has been shown to be an important regulator of stem cell renewal and hematopoiesis. Incellular or ectopic expression of HOXB4 expands hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells in vivo and in vitro, making it a potential candidate for therapeutic stem cell expansion.
