CD276, also known as B7-H3, is a member of the B7 superfamily with signature IgV and IgG regions in extracellular domains. It is a type I transmembrane protein and shares 20–27% amino acid identity with other B7 family members. B7-H3 is involved in the activation of T lymphocytes, and regulates murine bone formation. It is also reported that B7-H3 may play an important role in muscle-immune interactions, providing further evidence of the active role of muscle cells in local immunoregulatory processes. B7-H3 is expressed on T-cells, natural killer cells, and antigen presenting cells, as well as some non-immune cells, such as osteoblasts, fibroblasts, fibroblast-like synoviocytes and epithelial cells. High expression of B7-H3 in tumour vasculature also correlates with poor survival in patients, suggesting that it may play a role in tumour cell migration.

Interleukin-36 gamma (IL-36 gamma ) is a member of the interleukin 1 cytokine family that includes three closely related genes, IL-36 alpha, beta , and gamma , formerly known as IL-1F6, F8, and F9 respectively. IL-36 alpha has been detected in both neuronal and synovial tissue, whereas IL-36 beta and IL-36 gamma are expressed in both cutaneous and mucosal epithelial cells, including the respiratory tract. IL-36 beta and IL-36 gamma stimulate proliferation, maturation and/or cytokine expression by innate immune cells (such as keratinocytes and dendritic cells), and adaptive immune cells (neutrophils and T-cells) in both humans and mice. The activity of IL-36 alpha is mediated by interleukin 1 receptor-like 2 (IL1RL2/IL1R-rp2), and is specifically inhibited by interleukin 1 family, member 5 (IL1F5/IL-1 delta). IL-36 gamma plays an important role in communicating the cell death to surrounding cells.

Decorin, also known as PG40 and DCN, is a member of the class I family of small leucine-rich proteoglycans (SLRPs) that is expressed in the stroma of various forms of cancer and has been recently proposed to act as a guardian from the matrix. Mature human Decorin contains 12 tandem LRR and shares 80% and 78% aa sequence identity with mouse and rat Decorin, respectively. Decorin embraces numerous functions including: regulation of collagen fibrillogenic, hepatic carcinogenesis, fetal membrane and calcium homeostasis, keratinocyte function, and suppression of angiogenesis. Collagen triple helix repeat-containing protein 1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CTHRC1 gene. It acts as a negative regulator of collagen matrix deposition. It may cause the disease of Barrett esophagus . Patients with Barrett esophagus have an increased risk of esophageal adenocarcinoma. The main cause of Barrett esophagus is gastroesophageal reflux. The retrograde movement of acid and bile salts from the stomach into the esophagus causes prolonged injury to the esophageal epithelium and induces chronic esophagitis, which in turn is believed to trigger the pathologic changes.

TREML1 precursor contains a 15 amino acid signal peptide, a 147 amino acid extracellular domain with an Ig-like V-type (immunoglobulin-like) domain, and 128 amino acid cytoplasmic domain. It can be expressed exclusively in platelets and megakaryocytes (MKs). It is a cell surface receptor that may play a role in the innate and adaptive immune response. TREML1 Sequestered in cytoplasmic vesicles in resting platelets. TREML1 be transported to the cell surface after stimulation by thrombin. Soluble fragments can be released into the serum by proteolysis. The phosphorylated TREML1 can interact with PTPN6 and PTPN11. TREML1 may participate in maintaining vascular hemostasis and regulating coagulation and inflammation at sites of injury.
