Interleukin 17A (IL-17A), also known as CTLA-8, is a member of the IL-17 family of proteins. IL-17A is a proinflammatory cytokine that is secreted by activated CD4+ and CD8+ T lymphocytes. IL-17A acts through its receptor, IL-17R, to promote increased cytokine and chemokine secretion. In turn, the cytokines and chemokines mediate the immunoregulatory function of IL-17A by promoting the proliferation, maturation, and chemoattraction of neutrophils to inflammatory sites. Elevated levels of IL-17A are associated with rheumatoid arthritis, airway inflammation, allograft rejection, inflammatory bowel disease, psoriasis, cancer, and multiple sclerosis. Human, mouse, and rat IL-17A show activity on mouse cells.

Interleukin-6 receptor subunit beta (IL6ST) is also known as IL-6 receptor subunit beta, IL-6R subunit beta, IL-6R-beta, IL-6RB, Interleukin-6 signal transducer, Membrane glycoprotein 130 (gp130), CD130, Oncostatin-M receptor subunit alpha and Il6st,which is single-pass type I membrane protein. IL6ST /gp130 /CD130 can be found in tissues such as brain, heart, thymus, spleen, kidney, lung and liver and found in all the cell lines tested except BaF-B03.The expression of IL-6ST /gp130 is not restricted to IL6-responsive cells. The receptor systems for IL6, LIF, OSM, CNTF, IL11, CTF1 and BSF3 can utilize gp130 for initiating signal transmission. IL6ST /CD130 can bind to IL6 /IL6R (alpha chain) complex, resulting in the formation of high-affinity IL6 binding sites, and transduce the signal. GABARAP is highly positively charged in its N-terminus and shares sequence similarity with light chain-3 of microtubule-associated proteins 1A and 1B. GABARAP clusters neurotransmitter receptors by mediating interaction with the cytoskeleton. Autophagy is the process by which cells recycle cytoplasm and dispose of excess or defective organelles. This process is suggested to be involved development, differentiation, growth regulation and tissue remodeling in multicellular organisms. An important inhibitory neurotransmitter, GABA, acts on GABA receptors that are ubiquitously expressed in the CNS. GABARAP has been shown to play a important role in intracellular transport of GABA(A) receptors and its interaction with the cytoskeleton.

Cluster of differentiation 14 (CD14), is a cell surface glycoprotein, and is a is a component of the innate immune system. CD14 is a myelomonocytic differentiation antigen preferentially expressed on monocytes, macrophages, and activated granulocytes. CD14 exists in two forms. Either it is anchored into the membrane by a glycosylphosphatidylinositol tail (mCD14) or it appears in a soluble form (sCD14). Soluble CD14 either appears after shedding of mCD14 (48 kDa) or is directly secreted from intracellular vesicles (56 kDa). CD14 acts as a co-receptor (along with the Toll-like receptor TLR 4 and MD-2) for the detection of bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS). CD14 can bind LPS only in the presence of lipopolysaccharide-binding protein (LBP). CD14 has been proposed to be involved in various biological processes, including transportation of other lipids, cell-cell interaction during different immune responses, as well as recognition of apoptotic cells. Although LPS is considered its main ligand, CD14 also recognizes other pathogen-associated molecular patterns. CD14+ cells are monocytes that can differentiate into a host of different cells. CD14 has been shown to interact with Lipopolysaccharide-binding protein.

PSG2 is a secreted protein that in humans is encoded by the PSG2 gene. It is a member of the human pregnancy-specific glycoproteins (PSGs) family. These proteins are synthesised in large amounts by placental trophoblasts and released into the maternal circulation during pregnancy. Protein S100-P (S100P) belongs to the S100 family of Calcium-Binding Proteins. S100P is 95 amino acids in length and it contains 2 EF-Hand Calcium-Binding Motifs. The EF-Hand Motif binds calcium, which likely alters molecular conformation. S100 proteins are localized in the cytoplasm and/or nucleus of a wide range of cells and it is involved in the regulation of a number of cellular processes such as cell cycle progression and differentiation. In addition to binding Ca, S100P also binds Zn and Mg, and may play a role in the etiology of prostate cancer.
